ARTIST'S COMMENT This was
a pretty significant early breakthrough piece. I had done one previous
dramatic landscape of a waterfall and rainbow called Primordial, inspired
by the epic landscape art of the nineteenth century Hudson River artists
like Frederick Church. I was excited by the possibilities of incorporating
this new influence into my repertoire and so tried to find subtle new
ways of deriving allegorical meaning from these dramatic vistas. To me
this painting is still a strong statement about the relationship between
spirit and matter. BACK TO THE LANDSCAPE & NATURE GALLERY ALL
