ARTIST'S COMMENT

I'm still fond of this unusual picture. St. Elmo's Fire is a rare but real phenomenon in which the rigging of ships at sea will visibly glow with the eerie blue light of static electricity before a storm. As usual, I pushed the myth a little farther.

A friend suggested that the dog's name must be Elmo.
